Established in 2012, the Malnutrition Task Force raises awareness and provides information and practical guidance for everyone to help combat preventable undernutrition and dehydration in later life.
1 in 10 people over the age of 65 are malnourished or at risk of malnutrition

Undernutrition can affect anyone. It simply means that some older people are not eating or drinking enough to maintain their health and wellbeing. Unintended weight loss often goes unnoticed until it begins to affect a person’s health.

Congratulations to Dame Dianne Jeffrey, DBE, DL,Hon DUniv, Chair Malnutrition Task Force, on becoming a Dame of the British Empire (DBE) in the 2024 New Year's honours.

For more than 30 years Dianne has made a tremendous contribution to the voluntary and public sectors across every level of society. She was the leading force in the creation of the charity, Age UK, which launched in 2009. In 2012 she became the founding chair of Age International supporting older people in some of the world’s poorest places. Together with several other voluntary sector leaders, Dianne established the Dignity Commission and the Malnutrition Task Force (MTF).

The MTF raises awareness of preventable malnutrition in older people and this award is richly deserved.  We thank you for your leadership, support and your great ideas that has helped the MTF grow, since its inception, to where it is to day.
